Peter Knight’s career started in 1978 as a Real Estate salesman. In 1988 he was Group Managing Director of Halifax Property Services employing 1,500 people.

In 1989 he set up Phoenix plc – an integrated marketing communications agency that today employs 75 people and works across many sectors including property, travel, financial services and professional services; both B2B and B2C.  Peter is still chairman of Phoenix but as he puts it, “I’ve got a team there who run the agency much better than I ever did!”.

Peter is also Chairman of Estate Agency Events and The Estate Agency Academy – two businesses that deliver services to the Real Estate industry.

Since 2003, Peter has been a director and trustee of the International Childcare Trust and has cycled across Sri Lanka and southern India to raise funds and promote the charity’s beliefs that one day every child will receive an education. In 2007, Peter established The Estate Agency Foundation whose purpose is to eradicate the causes of homelessness.

Peter is a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and an experienced facilitator of Stephen Covey’s ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ and ‘4 Roles of Leadership’. Peter’s first speaking engagement for Vistage, the world’s largest Chief Executive membership organisation with 14,000 members, led to his winning their “New Speaker of the Year” award in 2003 and subsequently he has delivered over 250 presentations to audiences across the world.

‘HEMP – the Highly Effective Marketing Plan' was published by Pearson in 2004 and is now an international bestseller having been translated into eleven languages. Peter’s next book, ‘Riding the Rollercoaster’, will be published in summer 2009. Peter has written articles for many business publications and has a regular column in Real Business magazine.
